The first song is titled “Lanny’s Song (Whiskey Blind)”. 
It's about an old boy who among other things, had
a job of carrying out “johns” that died of heart failure
in the brothels of Deadwood.  Lanny
would haul them out and put them in their vehicle.
Sounds like a tough job to me.
